During an anxiety or panic attack, your rational mind is under siege and difficult to access.

The problem with panic attacks is that once you have had one, you may trigger another in following ways:

  • Worry that you are going to have another one.
  • Return to a similar situation to where the first one happened, can sometimes cause a ‘conditioning’ effect that triggers panic and anxiety attacks again.

These factors make it more likely that you will have another anxiety or panic attack, which is why many people find that they don’t have just one.

How hypnosis can help

Research, above all in the USA, has shown that hypnotherapy can help relieve stress, fear, and anxiety. It can also be used to help in coping with the symptoms of panic disorder. While under hypnosis, a person with panic disorder may be guided to bring attention to coping with specific symptoms and overcoming limiting behaviors.[1]
